How to play Screw Puzzle
Planks are held by screws. Pick up a screw and put it into another free hole — you can never throw one away. A plank with no screws falls; a plank held by just one screw swings down around it. Drop every plank to win. Planks lie in layers and lock the screws beneath them, and a swinging plank can hook onto another screw — the order of your moves is the puzzle.
How to play
- Tap a screw to pick it up; the free holes it can go to light up.
- Tap a highlighted hole to screw it in. Holes covered by the solid middle of a plank cannot be used.
- A screw put into a plank’s end hole pins that plank too.
- A plank without screws falls off; with only one screw it swings down — if its far end lands on another screw it hooks onto it and stays, if a screw is under its body it gets caught.
- Planks lie in layers: a screw under a higher plank is locked (🔒) until that plank is gone.
- Drop every plank to win. Use Undo or Restart if you get stuck.

Screw Puzzle is inspired by the popular wood nuts & bolts games: wooden planks are pinned to a board with screws and the only thing you can do is move a screw into another empty hole. Each move changes the board — planks fall away or swing down and cover or uncover holes.
Every level on PuzzleWorld is generated and checked by a solver, so it can always be cleared; your score is best when you need no more moves than the shortest solution. Free holes are scarce, so think about which plank should go first and where a swinging plank will end up.
